Description of Services:
The purpose of the project was to conduct an assessment of acacia wood procurements and its supply chain for its associated risks and opportunities for Latiyal Handicrafts Pvt. Ltd, Jodhpur. The client is a leading manufacturer and exporter of wooden handicraft items located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Broadly, the scope of the works included:
- Develop species profile for Acacia wood
- Conduct regeneration study for acacia wood
- Review product groups and input materials
- Assessment of acacia wood procurements
- Assessment of risks & opportunities
- Review related forest laws & regulations at regional & national levels
- Handholding during the EPCH-VRIKSH ‘Timber Legality Assessment’
- Provide assistance in resolving any major or minor non-conformances, if any identified in the audits.
- Develop evaluation of results and way forwards/recommendations
