Preparation of Scientific research report on Ethnobotany
Project Overview
The project aims to prepare a comprehensive scientific research report on the current ethnobotanical practices in five villages across all tehsils of Balaghat District, Madhya Pradesh. This study, conducted in consultation with the District Forest Officer (DFO) and a Registered Scientific Body, will involve a detailed review of existing literature and primary data collection through interviews, focus group discussions, and participatory rural appraisal (PRA) techniques with local communities.

Conduct an extensive review of existing literature to establish a foundation for understanding ethnobotanical practices in the region.
Collect primary data through interviews, focus group discussions, and PRA techniques to gain insights into traditional plant usage and cultural significance from local communities.
Collaborate with the DFO and a Registered Scientific Body to ensure alignment with local conservation priorities and scientific rigor.
Identify key species of concern, documenting their availability, traditional uses, and cultural values to highlight their importance for local biodiversity.
Engage with local communities to validate findings and promote the preservation and transmission of indigenous knowledge.
Provide recommendations for the sustainable management and conservation of ethnobotanical resources, supporting long-term biodiversity conservation in the region.
